Plank Board Braaing is a versatile cooking method where food is placed on top of a fragrant plank of wood to cook over a heat source. The plank or wood has a characteristic flavour and aroma that it infuses into the food as heat is applied.
Plank board Braaing is popular with fish like salmon and others, but planks can be used with other meats, pizza, vegetables, fruits and cheese too. The result is juicy and moist flavour-filled and aroma-rich food.
Planks can be reused.
130mm x 280 mm x 7mm
Directions for use:
1. Soak plank in fruit juice, wine etc if desired (will increase smoking time)
2. Place plank over fire and char until smoking starts
3. Turn plank over and place food onto plank
4. Remove food from plank when cooked
Once the plank has cooled, the excess char and food can be scraped off with a knife & stored for next use.
